Young generation unable to speak their own mother tongue and disassociation with their own culture is threatening the identity of Kashmiri Pandits.  After loosing their homes, Kashmiri Pandits are now on the brink of losing their -cultural identity.

Away from their happy nests in the Valley displaced Kashmiri Pandits gathered on the banks of Chenab to demonstrate their continued love and affection for those they lost at the hands of another human person turned inhuman and savage on them. They remembered the souls of all their departed loved ones during the Shradha Paksha. In the memory of their loved ones, they ate their favourite foods and remembered the good times they had with them. This was their way of saying, "We love you and still have fond memories of you. Be at peace, where ever you are!" Farooq Ganai writes about the Maha Shradah organised by Panun Kashmir today on Sunday 6 August on the banks of Chenab. Gaashonline Team joins Kashmiri Pandit Community in the offer of their prayers for the departed souls.

Terming themselves as slaves of Independent India, the west Pakistani refugees observe black day on the eve of 15th August 'India's Independence Day'. These refugees who crossed on to this side of border after mass migration of Hindus from Pakistan to India in the year 1947 during Indo-Pak partition are yet to be recognized as citizens of the state or country they live in.

It was believed that the Muslims have joined militant out fits for the sake of 'Jihad' but now Hindu Youth are also joining them in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is a 'million dollar' question to answer. It is said that they either join for monetary benefits or to safe guard their community from militant strikes. But majority of the Hindus are of the view that they actually belong to a criminal lot. "It is not yet known for what they are exactly joining them" says a local Hindu of Doda.
